ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in ChongQing, in the Year of the Horse 1979. In Primary- and High School I was already interested in languages and eager to speak excellent Mandarin as well as artfully writing our language (Calligraphy). After High School I was accepted at Hua Xi Art School in Chengdu (the Capital of Sichuan Province) where I majored in Broadcasting and News Anchoring. A year later I was given the opportunity to study the same major in Beijing, the Capital of China. I studied at the Central College of Cultural Administrators for 2 years and in 2000 I received a postgraduate degree as a professional Mandarin speaker. With this degree I also got the license to practise as a presenter for TV, Radio and other Media. This license is issued by The Chinese National Language Council (ZhongGuo GuoJia YuWei Ceshi). During my studies in Chengdu en Beijing I worked as a trainee at Sichuan Radio and ChongQing TV where I hosted and produced some television shows.

After graduation I accepted a traineeship at CETV-3 (China Educational Television) in Beijing as an editor for various children's shows. I also taught the hosts of these shows. A few months later I was offered a job at a CPTT's (China Post Telecom Tours) daughter company called "Beijing Zhong HongLian" as a voice talent, project manager and studio engineer. I was the voice of many audiotex productions (IVR) for national games and information hotlines. I also wrote, edited and recorded scripts for the hotlines of TV Stations (games, stock info, show info). Later "Zhong HongLian" entered into a Joint Venture with a leading Dutch Audiotex company "Teleholding International BV" and I became their Number One voice-over for their new IVR services.

During the summer of 2003 a television commercial was shot in Amsterdam for Oil of Olaz China featuring the famous Chinese actress Maggie Cheung. I worked as a production assistant for SVP productions (a Sino-Dutch TV production company) during the time that the commercial was made. For SVP Productions I recorded also a pilot episode of game show in Stockholm at Channel-5 studios. This show will be sold to Shanghai Television.

I'm now living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and "me and my voice" have been registered with various voice agencies around the world. At the moment I'm combining my love for the beautiful Chinese language with a job as a teacher at the Chinese school in Amsterdam and my Marketing study at HES School of Economics and Business. Before I worked as a Management Assistant for Amsterdams oldest Diamond Polishing factory. In an article in the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf about Chinese tourism you can find a picture of me.
